The Ames Center can open the door to your child’s future.
Childhood is a magical time. So much to learn and so many ways to learn it! We create an environment where all children can explore the world, create, learn to express themselves, and absorb ideas. We provide the building blocks for your child’s growth and future success!
The Ames Center is a licensed preschool special education program and childcare center serving preschool students with varying abilities between the ages of 18 months – 5 years utilizing a special class in an integrated setting model for children with varying needs and a special class model for those who require a more restrictive setting. Our program, located in southwest Yonkers on the Hudson River, offers a unique early childhood program in a warm, nurturing and safe environment. Each classroom provides an educational experience that recognizes and values diversity.
The staff at the Ames Center is dedicated to the belief that all children have the ability to learn and to progress intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically, regardless of individual strengths and differing abilities. We encourage individual freedom and self-directed learning through play, while providing a structured and positive learning environment where all children will be helped to reach their potential.
